I had a conversation with a friend last night and we talked about little rituals that we do with our cars. He has automotive ADD, and buys and sells cars at a blinding rate for someone who doesn't own a dealership. One thing he does is make a photocopy of every title and keeps them at his house. Last count? 102 titles for various cars and motorcycles.

When I buy a car, I always choose a song that I think fits the personality of that car, that is always the first song I play after I take delivery of the vehicle. From then on, that is OUR song.

What's the word Oppo, anything interesting you might do?

Historically, my ritual has been to get an old beater, wring the life out of it, then get another.

I name my vehicles.

Cobalt had "Alice".

Silverado has "Marion".

My new car (thinking TDI Passat) will probably have "Maggie".

My rituals are to change my own oil and spark plugs, get a few pictures of the car when I buy and sell it, sign up with a discussion forum that is related to that car for maintenance/repair info and track my fuel economy.
